Salesman Accused of Theft of Gold Bracelets

A salesman stole two bracelets tiffany and co worth Dh 2,400 belonging to a guest at a hotel where he worked, a court heard on Wednesday.

The case, in which the 44-year-old Bangladeshi salesman is charged with theft, was brought before the Court of First Instance.

The Naif police officers arrested the defendant when he was trying to sell the bracelets bangles at the Gold Souq on July 29.

An Indian partner at the hotel in Maydan Jamal Abdel Nasser where the theft allegedly took place, told the cops that a woman guest had given him the bracelets for safe keeping in the deposit box.

The following day he found out that the bracelets had been stolen. He then received a call from the police asking him whether he lost any bracelets.”I went to the police station and the missing bracelets were there. I have been told by the cops that the defendant tried to sell them at the Gold Souq,” the partner claimed. mary@khaleejtimes.ae
